It is a
religious, historical and cultural monument built in the
early 40s with a very peculiar archituecture that
has been damaged by the time and the lack of care. This
damaged has been repaired by replacing the tiles with bricks.
"Santa
Rita", known as "the saint of the imposible",
is the patron saint of the city. Every 22 of May, the whole
town pays tribute to this saint by walking with a statue
of it and saying a mass.

Foundations Shelter El Timbó

in the city in a 200- hectare- property, the shelter is
by the Paraná River and is owned by the firm "La Misionera
S.A.".
The
Timbó is a big tree with a beatiful shape and its top looks
like an open sunshade. The fruit of this tree is a little
black berry which shape is similar to an ear that the guaraníes
like to call "Cambá Nambi" ( black ear). The Vida
Silvestre Foundation together with "La Misionera S.A."
( a corporation) decided to create the shelter named "El
Timbó Gigante" in order to preserve such tree. The
"Timbó Gigante" is 42-meter-high, with a diameter
of 2,10 meter and a circumference of 6,50 meter. The Timbó
Gigante is surrounded by diferent kind of trees like the
Yellow Guatambú, the Cedar, the Black Lapacho and other
little Timbós; and among many animals the monkey, the "Serelepe"
and the "Anó Chico" are found.

This
road is prepared for a walk with recognition of local birds
which gave the name Surucuá to the place. A swimming pool
which is placed in the hill, is being repaired. The idea
of having this pool is that during the walk, tourists can
stop to refresh themselves and then keep with the walk. |

and tea from La Misionera |
The
production of maté and tea have been the main activities
of this place for many years. The "Cooperativa de Montecarlo"
(Montecarlo Cooperative) whish is a city placed nest to
Caraguatay , sells to the visitors the maté from that place.
The maté is provided by "La Aguantadora" , "Sinceridad"
, and " La Doncella" trademarks. The maté is made
with different tastes, which can also be used to a "tereré"
(cold maté). Nowadays, the places where the maté and tea
are produced can be visited, and tourists can learn how
the process of the production is made. |

It is an
optional activity, directed by Mariela Seifert, who not
only does lead the tourists to many circuits but also guides
them on a tour of 2, 4 or 5 hours, according to the chosen
one.

Every
circuit has a touristic guide, food and horses. These circuits
can be modified when the tourist whishes to.

house where Ernesto "Che" Guevara
spent his childhood |
During
the visit, the remains of the house where the legendary
argentine-cuban guerrilla Ernesto "Che" Guevara
de la
Serna lived are seen. This house was declared of historical
and public interested. A museum will be settle down soon.
Such museum will have many information and personal things
from Ernesto "Che" Guevara. His father was Ernesto
Guevara Linch and his mother was Celia de la Serna. "Che"
Guevara was conceived in "Caraguatay", near to
La Misionera, where his father started a farm. |

activity is scheduled to take place through roads inside
our establishment and in those at Caraguatay Island.
To get to this place, a motorboat is required. |
