Provincial Park Moconá |

Location:
Is located in the centre-east of Misiones, in the extreme south of
the department San Pedro. The park limits to the north with the stream
Pepirí-Miní and to the southeast, south and southwest with the Uruguay
River. Surface:
The Park has 999 Has. The
Argentina side has interesting species of birds as the Cóndor or Jote
Real, the small Yasiyateré, the Pepitero picudo, the Atajacaminos
Coludo, the Viudita Coluda, the bird Campana (Bell), etc. It is possible
find 63 species of birds, 5 of mammals, 2 of reptiles, 1 of amphibians
and at least 6 of fishes. The most important attractions of this Park are
the amazing Saltos del Moconá, eternally Argentine.
They look toward Brazil because the Uruguay River run downwards in
a narrow longitudinal cannon and not transversal, as usually happen
in other leaps and waterfalls. The multitude of waterfalls, on a gully over 3 kilometres long and with 20 metres of height alongside its whole length , run flowing downwards and creating one the most wonderful landscapes for pleasure of the tourists. |
